Inspiration for this image came from our cat, Diemos, who was named after one of the moons of Mars. Yes, he has a brother whose name is Phobos, the other moon of Mars.
Diemos is an incredibly strange cat. His current quirk involves squeezing himself into the tiny space between my butt and the back of my ergonomic chair. He only squeezes himself in there because I refuse to give up my chair, which I bought well, because it’s ergonomic!
I’ve tried moving him onto my husband’s chair after I’ve pre-warmed it thinking, he just wants my chair because it’s warm. He is a cat after all. Nope. He jumps off and immediately squeezes himself back into his spot. When I get up to take a break, he spreads himself out, as if to claim the entire chair.
It’s a daily battle that I refuse to lose! I have the opposable thumbs after all!
This digital collage was made with Photoshop, Illustrator, a scanner, and the original photo below. The textile print was scanned from a skirt in my closet, the couch is from our living room, the catnip and clouds are from the public domain.
